Threesixty has an ongoing relationship with the Irish charity Friends of
Kitui through which we have committed to fund a new water project in the
Kitui region of Kenya every two years.
Last year we funded the development of a dam at Makonga which brings fresh water to 500 people in the area for drinking, sanitation and agriculture.
Friends of Kitui is a 100% voluntary charitable organisation and all of the funds go directly to the people of Kitui. We particularly liked their ethos of self-help and also of encouraging entrepreneurial activity. Friends of Kitui are working with a fantastic team of people from Kitui who are establishing new ventures such as a collective honey-making venture, natural soaps and local craft products.
We also pick one Irish project each year and donate time to their organisation. In 2006 we donated time to the ALAFA aids project, in 2007 we donated the new brand for the Solas Centre (a cancer support centre in Waterford) and in 2008 and 2009 we donated the design of an annual report to the mental health charity Grow.
Threesixty is also a Corporate Friend of the Kilkenny Arts Festival and of Barnstorm Kilkenny Theatre Arts.
